Our priority is supporting artists across our region by offering a wide range of services and resources—from financial support and grant funding to exhibition opportunities, training, information sessions, and pathways to paid work. We’re committed to removing barriers so you can focus on creating, sharing your work, and accessing opportunities that help you grow. Below is a list of various services and resources we offer to help make that happen.
Grant Funding
Southern Illinois Arts Fund
Flexible-funding grants for creative or personal needs—from materials and studio rent to travel and living expenses—allowing you to focus on your art without restrictions. Calls for submission typically happen in the fall.
Residency Grants for Artists
Grant funding for artists to participate in arts-focused residencies, build new work, and connect with peers in inspiring environments. In collaboration with 3Art

Exhibition Opportunities
Individual Exhibiting
We offer solo exhibiting opportunities for artists to showcase their work at our venues, with space for an opening reception, on-site support, and promotion through our organization.
Organization-Led Exhibitions
Throughout the year, Artspace Southern Illinois offers organization-led exhibitions curated by our team. These showcases spotlight diverse artistic practices and provide professional platforms for presenting new work.
Affordable Venue Rental
We offer limited venue rental opportunities that are subject to availability. There are also limited opportunities for reduced rates, making it easy for emerging and independent artists to exhibit, host events, or stage performances for local audiences.

Mural & Public Art Commissions
We work in collaboration with municipalities, businesses, and cultural institutions to provide paid opportunities for artists to create community murals and public artwork installations. This is a great chance for you to be featured on a large scale and help create beautiful and creative spaces in communities throughout Southern Illinois while also getting paid for your work.

Partner Collaboration Programs

Artist Access & Support Services
We know that financial and resource barriers can make it difficult to pursue your creative work or access the support you need. To help remove limitations, we offer virtual opportunities—including trainings and informational sessions—to give more people access and a chance to participate. On-site, we provide computer access and personalized guidance for grant and exhibition submissions, navigating online resources, and portfolio critiques to strengthen your applications. Based on individual needs, we also assist with travel and accessibility, ensuring that location, mobility, or transportation challenges don’t prevent anyone from participating or applying for opportunities.
