Artspace Southern Illinois Residency Awards Celebration: An Evening Dedicated to Two Local Artists
Supporting Regional Artists—$60,000 in Awards
Artspace Southern Illinois was honored to invite everyone to a reception celebrating the Residency Award recipients at our 304 Cultural Arts Center in Carbondale, IL.
These two awards were dedicated to Southern Illinois creatives and were an important part of our commitment to supporting independent artists in the region. Each recipient received a $30,000 unrestricted award to use in whatever way best supports them and their creative practice—time to create, materials, studio space, or basic stability. That kind of flexible support enables artists to expand creative activities, take on new creative projects, and strengthen their individual careers.
These two awards, a collaboration between Artspace Southern Illinois and 3Arts (a Chicago-based arts organization), are made possible through our matching contributions and a shared commitment to support independent artists in Southern Illinois. Above all, this is about the recipients and giving them the freedom to do their best work.
