From Our CEO - November

Hello Friends,

I am excited to share meaningful updates about all that has been happening over the last few months, starting with our new name:

Artspace 304 is Now: Artspace Southern Illinois

For more than 40 years, we've been committed to expanding access to the arts and supporting local, independent artists. Beginning in the Carbondale, Illinois community, as our programs, services, and regional reach have grown, so too has our organization. To reflect that evolution, we’ve updated our name to best represent our continued commitment and efforts to expand the arts throughout Southern Illinois and help artists thrive in communities throughout the region.

Our Purpose and Focus

As we step into an exciting new time for our organization, we’ve completed our strategic vision and goals for the future.

A New Space to Grow—On the Strip

We’re thrilled to announce the opening of Phase 1 of our new multi-functional space: Artspace Southern Illinois - On the Strip.

This long-awaited space will allow us to welcome more people, showcase new exhibitions, and expand our store offerings. Open to the public in October, this beautiful new venue includes an expansive outdoor patio cafe area, a new Gallery, and Store and Gift Shop featuring a curated selection of art prints, handmade art, fair-trade gifts, and locally crafted pieces—proceeds support the artists and our work.

The space is designed to be open and inviting—a place where artists, families, and visitors can gather, create, and connect. Please stop by to see our new exhibits. Plus, we shop for unique and meaningful gifts just in time for your Holiday Shopping.

Even More

In the past few months, we’ve made some exciting progress, including:

All of this is part of our larger effort to keep growing in ways that feel meaningful and true to who we are and to people, like you, whom we serve. The arts are for everyone: they connect and inspire us, allow us to get creative, and bring people together.

Our focus remains the same; we’re just finding more ways to share and support the arts with more people throughout Southern Illinois.

Thanks for being a part of this with us.

Regards,

Chuck Benya
